About the speciality. The car is considered one of the most brilliant human inventions. Reliability, mobility, speed, convenience of passengers and goods transportation are provided by different means of transport. Automobile transport is a transport industry that provides satisfaction of the population and public production needs in passengers and loads transportation by vehicles.

The profession of engineer-motorist, whose sphere of activity is the automobile industry and its main object – a motor vehicle, is difficult to overestimate nowadays. After all, a modern life cannot be imagined without these vehicles that surround us everywhere. Every year their number increases, which means that there is a growing need for specialists in automobile transport. Engineers of automobile transport carry out the development of technological processes, plan and arrange works on maintenance and repair of motor vehicles or equipment.

Acquired Competences

Knowledge and understanding:

  • basic knowledge of law system and legislation in the field of automobile transport;
  • basic knowledge in construction of vehicles and their components, automobile enterprises, fundamentals of organization of the road traffic and transportation;
  • basic knowledge of technological processes of industry, industry management, construction and operation of technological equipment;
  • basic knowledge of requirements to aesthetic, economical parameters of automobile transport, its systems and separate elements, principles and methods of calculation of the equipment handling;
  • basic knowledge of principles and peculiarities of automobiles maintenance, their systems, elements and structure    of management.

Application of knowledge and skills:

  • ability to use normative legal documents concerning the automobile transport operation in professional activity;
  • ability to organize the road traffic and transportation, define the requirements to construction of automobile transport and infrastructure;
  • ability to work out and implement technological processes when producing, operating, servicing the means of transport, their systems and elements, work out all necessary equipment; 
  • ability to work out the technical tasks and conditions for designing the automobile transport, its systems and separate elements.

  • knowledge of modern condition and main tendencies of automobile constructures development and level of its influence on the security, efficiency and ecological factors of usage;
  • understanding of theoretical fundamentals of modern research methods that concern the reliability, maintenance properties of automobile;
  • knowledge of infrastructure of corporate automobile service and requirements to all its sub-systems;
  • understanding of ways of providing the automobile service quality of approaches to creating the competitive automobile service centers;
  • knowledge of main principles of creating the international and national systems of certification.

Application of knowledge and skills:

  • ability to collect and process data, learn the advanced native and foreign experience that is concerned the problems of transport;
  • ability to solve the complicated specialized problems and practical tasks which are concerned transport;
  • ability to apply the knowledge practically when designing and producing the motor vehicles, ability to test the samples of machines;
  • ability to identify the factors which influence on the frequency of automobile maintenance and automotive parts identification scheme, to predict and plan the physical resources needs;
  • ability to identify the capability of automobile market and automobile services;
  • ability to design the competitive automobile service centers.
