122 'Computer Sciences and Information Technologies' (a Bachelor, full and short terms). Students are trained to become specialists with fundamental knowledge in mathematics, physics, computer sciences, natural sciences, humanities and socio-economic disciplines. The graduate is focused on solving problems of analysis and synthesis of complex systems on the basis of the latest information technologies, using modern achievements of fundamental and engineering sciences.

015 'Vocational Education (Computer Technologies)' (a Bachelor, full and short terms). This specilty relates to engineering activities, e.g. development of special software products, and pedagogical activities, e.g. engineering and computer sciences teaching.

121 'Software Engineering' (a Bachelor). Graduates develop software applications for computer systems and networks, corporate systems, decision support systems, automated control systems, intelligent systems, software products for business, software tools for protecting information in computer systems and networks.

122 'Computer Sciences and Information Technologies' (a Master).

Specialization 'Information Control Systems and Technologies'. The graduate will be able to conduct research, to carry out scientific and technical developments in the field of design and implementation of information systems.

Specialization 'Project Management'. The specialty is focused on the training of specialists in the management of projects and programs in the field of material (non-material) production.

015 'Vocational education (Computer Technologies)' (a Specialist, a Master). The specialty provides the training with a double specialization: pedagogical and engineering one in the field of computer technologies. Such specialists, on the one hand, have skills in the creation and application of computer systems in various fields, and, on the other hand, are able to convey their knowledge to students.

Professorial staff of the department includes lecturers with the title 'International engineer-teacher', members of the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy IGIP (International Engineering Education). The department collaborates with IBM, Microsoft, Intel, and Sailor corporations. Teachers have received certificates which confirm the high level of their professional skills.

Associate professors O. Herasymchuk, I. Andrushchak, and a lecturer N. Oleksiv have passed internship at the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Technische Universität Berlin. O. Herasymchuk and V. Podoliak have been trained by the system of the Internationale Gesellschaft für Ingenierpädagogik (IGIP).

The Department of Computer Technology coordinated the participation of Lutsk NTU in the project TEMPUS 'Practice- Oriented Master Programmes in Engeneering in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan' (PROMENG) and gave informational support for the project TRACECA Transport dialogue and networks interoperability II. The Department also coordinates the educational component of the 'The Electronic Governance for Government Accountability and Community Participation (EGAP)' programme in Volyn region.

Research areas of the department:

  • Research and development of information systems with the use of high-level programming languages;
  • Study of memory with orderly access based on commuting networks;
  • Development and application of decision-making methods, optimization and management in systematic medical research.

Students of the department participate in and take prize-winning places at the international competitions and contests, in particular: the Olympiad in the subject area 'Computer Sciences'; The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC); the International IT-Olympiad 'IT Universe'; the competition of the IBM 'System z/Master' company; the International Olympiad 'IT-Planet'; the Olympiad in Pedagogy, and many others.
