Cooperation of Universities supporting the development of security and crisis management of the Lublin and Lutsk transborder regions

Thematic Objective: Promotion of border management and border security, mobility and migration management (BORDERS)

Programme Priority: Improvement of border management operations, customs and visas procedures

Lead Beneficiary: The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin

Project Beneficiaries:

Project duration: 20 months

Indicative budget: €303 063.00

Target group: participants of the project (border guard and custom service staff), beneficiaries of the project, participants of the project and subjects dealing with borders management and fighting against illegal migrations and trade as well as fighting with organized crime, persons crossing border, residents of border regions etc.

Overall objective: Strengthening the cooperation between regions of Lublin and Luck, and increasing the efficiency of border checks by improving the competence, and qualifications of Polish and Ukrainian border, and customs services, and the acquisition and delivery of complex information in the field of border manage

Specific objectives:

1)   Improving the interpersonal and social skills, and biofeedback training for the staff of Polish and Ukrainian border and customs services, necessary to increase the efficiency of border checks

2)   Improving the qualifications of the staff of Polish and Ukrainian border and customs services in the field of border management, including prevention and limitation of illegal migration and trafficking, and the campaign against organized crime, needed to increase the effectiveness of border checks

3)   Acquisition and delivery of up to date, and comprehensive information relating to border management in the field of prevention and limitation of illegal migrationand trafficking, and the campaign against organized crime, needed to increase the effectiveness of border checks
