Delegations from Belarus and Ostroh were discussing the issues of youth vocational and career guidance in Lutsk NTU

Representatives from the universities of Belarus and Ostroh came down to the Lutsk National Technical University to raise the question of career-guidance of students and schoolchildren, and discuss the new approaches of its implementation.

The cross-border congress took place within the framework of the project ‘Enhancing the competitiveness of graduates on labor markets of Ukraine and Belarus through establishment of cross-border regional network of university Centers of vocational and career guidance’.

It is worth mentioning that the project is being implemented with the support of EaPTC Belarus-Ukraine, the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. 

The project, launched in December 2017, will last for 14 months. The main partner is the National University of Ostroh Academy. Co-applicants are Lutsk National Technical University, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, and A. S. Pushkin Brest State University. The overall goal is to improve the living conditions of the local population by enhancing the competitiveness of youth on labor markets of Ukraine and Belarus.

It is planned to establish Career Guidance Centers equipped with modern software in each partner university. These centers will provide:

-          workshops, training, and certification for career counselors;

-          vocational and career counseling for schoolchildren and university graduates;

-          establishment of databases of schoolchildren, job seekers ;

-          access to databases for prospective employers and recruiters.
